Technical Inspection Engineer (Inspectie afdeling)

The electrolysis plant in Lillo and the EDC/Cl2 plant in Zandvliet are two different sites build according to different technical standards. The technical inspection manager has to develop a new organization to centralize and coordinate periodic and legal inspections of the installations on both locations.
The job implies dealing with different technologies and products of which most are dangerous and/or corrosive.
The purpose is to keep the production equipment at the sites in a proper working order to maximize safety and reliability. He assures the mechanical integrity of the installations.

Reporting to Site Manager, your responsibilities will include:

 Ensure compliance with SHE regulation, quality standards and company policies
 Responsible for all legal and plant specific inspection and testing on both Antwerp locations related to pressure vessels, safety relief valves, steam equipment, piping and hoisting equipment.
 Manage internal and external interaction and collaboration
 Manage the own department and team
 Cost control (fixed and variable cost)


 Master of science in mechanical engineering or electromechanical engineering or equivalent through experience ( experience in an industrial chemical environment )
 At least 5 years of experience in mechanical construction or within an inspection department, preferably in the process industry
 Excellent level in Dutch and English (oral and written)
 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, must be innovative and proactive.
 A broad interest in chemical process engineering

The right candidate will be highly motivated, a good problem solver and able to work independently with a sound engineering knowledge coupled with the ability to impact and influence fellow workers. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a good organizational awareness. He / She keeps calm in stressful situations, is responsible, safety conscious and likes to motivate colleagues. Finally, our future colleague should be flexible and willing to travel if needed.
